Teaching
I have taught courses spanning introductory linguistics, computational linguistics, and statistical natural language processing at the University of Arizona. My courses combine linguistic concepts with hands-on analysis and programming.
University of Arizona — Instructor of Record
LING 438 · Computational Linguistics
Fall 2025; Fall 2026
An upper-level introduction to computational approaches to language, including text processing, regular expressions, finite-state automata, Markov chains, formal grammars, syntactic parsing, and the Chomsky hierarchy. Course work includes programming in Perl, Python, and Prolog.
LING 439 · Statistical Natural Language Processing
Spring 2026
An upper-level course covering machine learning fundamentals, word representations, sequence tagging, and structured prediction. Topics include Naive Bayes, logistic regression, hidden Markov models, embeddings, and dependency parsing.
LING 201 · Introduction to Linguistics
Summer 2024; Summer 2025
Online introductory courses covering phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. I developed recorded lectures, assignments, quizzes, and other course materials.
